Thanks to my new job I had the pleasure of attending the This is My Kenya Art Exhibition that went down in March.
In late 2018, Safaricom launched a campaign to support the local art scene. In a nutshell, they wanted to create a calendar that features local art - essentially creating a portable gallery. The calendar celebrates the country through the eyes of gifted artists.
What's most interesting is that I submitted my painting for a chance to be featured on the calendar. Out of 2000 artworks submitted, 36 pieces were chosen. I didn't make it to the finals, but when I did see the pieces that did, I was in awe!
